School Supply Drive

Join T’s Mobile Detailing this Saturday at Walmart as they fill the backpacks for our local children who need a little help! I am not sure how many years this wonderful man has led this drive, I know it is many, many years, I am proud to call him my friend and support this effort!

Back to School Immunizations

With the start of the new school year on the horizon, the Florida Department of Health (DOH) in Volusia County will extend it’s immunization hours beginning Monday, July 25 through Tuesday, August 16.

Extended hours for back-to-school immunizations will be offered at four DOH-Volusia locations:

  • Daytona Beach: 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, 1845 Holsonback Drive.
  • Deland: 8 a.m. to noon, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, 931 N. Spring Garden Avenue.
  • Deltona: 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, 3151 Howland Boulevard.
  • New Smyrna Beach: 1 to 4:30 p.m., Monday and Thursday, 717 W. Canal Street.

New and transferring students, kindergarten students, and those entering seventh grade must provide proof of immunizations to the school before children can receive a schedule or enter school on the first day of classes.

Parents are encouraged to bring shot records with them when requesting immunizations.

Classes resume in Volusia County Schools on Monday, August 15.

Volusia County Uniform Information (2016/2017)

Here is some new information on the dress code changes and uniforms for 2016/2017 school year. All but one of our Volusia County School Board members voted for the uniform policy. Linda Cuthbert was the lone vote against. So whether you agree with it or not (I do not) here is it. You can find more information HERE.
